3. FERPA and SB29 Compliance
- SCSS complies fully with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Ohio Senate Bill 29 (SB29).
- SCSS acts as a “school official” with a legitimate educational interest when providing services to educational institutions and is under direct control of those institutions through written contracts.
- SCSS will only use personally identifiable student information for the purposes specified in the contract and in accordance with FERPA and SB29.
- SCSS will not build student profiles for non-educational purposes or engage in any data mining not authorized by the client.
- If there is a conflict between this policy and FERPA or SB29, FERPA and SB29 shall govern and take precedence.

SCSS does not share client or student data except as required by law or contract. We do not disclose information for marketing, advertising, or any non-service-related purposes.

SCSS uses administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect all personal and institutional data, including:
